Welcome to Our Canine and Feline Behaviour Services
At Vet2UrPet, we're excited to introduce our newest team member, Dr Naomi, a Behaviour Veterinarian dedicated to helping your beloved pets lead happier, healthier lives. Their well-being, both physical and emotional, is paramount to a harmonious household. Whether your furry friend is exhibiting challenging behaviours or simply needs some extra guidance, we're here to provide comprehensive behavioural services through both in-home mobile visits and in-clinic consultations.
Understanding Animal Behaviour
Behavioural issues in pets can stem from various factors, including genetics, environment, past experiences, and medical conditions. Our Behaviour Vet is trained to assess these factors and develop effective strategies to address behavioural concerns.
What is a Behaviour Veterinarian?
A Behaviour Veterinarian is a vet who has undertaken further study and examinations in the subject of Behavioural Medicine and is part of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (Veterinary Behaviour Chapter). Due to experience also working in General Practice, our Behaviour Vet has a good understanding of underlying medical conditions and how these can impact an animal’s behaviour.
Services We Offer
1. Behavioural Consultations: Our consultations are designed to delve into your pet's behaviour in detail. Whether it's excessive barking, aggression, anxiety, or destructive habits, we'll work closely with you to understand the root cause and develop a personalized plan for improvement.
2. Behaviour Modification: For pets exhibiting problematic behaviours, such as separation distress or fear-based reactions, we provide behaviour modification plans aimed at promoting positive changes in behaviour over time.
3. Environmental Enrichment: Enriching your pet's environment is crucial for their mental and emotional well-being. Our Behaviour Vet can offer advice on creating stimulating environments that reduce boredom and promote positive behaviours.
4. In-Home Sessions: We understand that some pets may feel more comfortable in their home environment. That's why we offer convenient at-home behavioural consultations to address your pet's needs in a familiar setting.
5. In-Clinic Services: For pets requiring further diagnostic workup, we also provide in-clinic behavioural services. Our clinic is equipped with the necessary resources to support your pet's behavioural health.
Vet2UrPet also works together with experienced and qualified animal trainer Erin from ‘Training with Hart’ (https://www.trainingwithhart.com.au/) who focuses on formulating the best training plan for your pet on an individual basis. Your training plan is an in-depth, personalised and customised plan for your personal needs in order to make training fun and exciting for the whole family!
Together, this behaviour package is one of a kind and the only collaborated behaviour vet and training team offering this in Townsville.
